These fonts were made by Christoph
Singer for SLOVO using TypeDesigner 3.0 by DTP
Software.
The font files contain tables with information on each font added using Font Properties
Editor by Microsoft. Use Microsoft's free Font Properties Extension
tool to read these tables. Download the latest version of this tool to read all
information.
You may use our fonts free of charge for non-profit purposes of education and research
(that means you must not make money out of any material printed with these fonts!). They
may also freely be distributed, but may not be distributed for profit either on a
standalone basis or included as part of your own product.
If you want to use a font for commercial purposes (e.g. to print a book that will be sold
for profit) you will have to ask me for licence.
If a font doesn't completely match your needs (e.g. if you need some more special
characters or if you prefere another encoding scheme) feel free to change and improve the
font - under two conditions:
1. You must give away the improved version of the font as FREEWARE in the Internet (e. g.
by uploading to a public FTP-Server)
2. Please tell me about your improved font and send me a copy of it (webmaster AT slovo.info
or christoph.singer@usa.net).
If you want to make changes to a font but are not able to edit fonts you may ask me to realize your suggestions.
Most of the fonts have a "symbol" encoding because of containing
characters not supported by Windows 95 and for compatibility with Windows 3.1. They will
work in most applications, but do not work properly in UNICODE based applications as
MS Word 97.
Only "XSerif Unicode" has UNICODE encoding and contains characters of all other
XSerif-Fonts. You can use all characters in this font only in UNICODE-based applications,
e. g. MS Word 97, Netscape Communicator 4, MS Internet Explorer 4.
